10 September 2024Dear valued S&A members, It is hard to believe we are in September 2024. All of us on the CFIA-Scientific and Analytical (S&A) Executive hope all the S&A members (CO, EN-ENG, ES, PG, SE-RES, SE-REM and SR classifications) have had a good relaxing summer.
22 August 2024After many sessions of negotiations, the CFIA-S&A Group bargaining team is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with the CFIA.
7 August 2024The Employer at CFIA has submitted a request for an extension of 18 months to complete the pay equity plan. The original draft plan was supposed to be posted for review and comments by July 03, 2024 but the employer failed to meet this deadline.
27 June 2024Dear S&A members, Due to unforeseen circumstances, we wanted to inform you that the employer (CFIA) has cancelled our June 26 and 27 bargaining session. We understand your frustration. We are working hard to secure new dates with the CFIA and will keep you posted.
17 June 2024The Pay Equity Committee at CFIA has almost completed the process of creating job classes which include similar duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and the same compensation plan within the same range of salary rates.
17 May 2024We met with the employer from May 7 - 9, 2024, for our second individual S&A group bargaining session.
16 April 2024We met with the employer on March 6 and 7, 2024, for our first individual S&A group bargaining session.
12 February 2024The classification grievance submitted by PIPSC put forward arguments to support an upward reclassification of the Supervisor, Inspection and Advisory Services (SR-03) job description to SR-04.

15 December 2023The Pay Equity Committee at CFIA has been working to develop a proactive pay equity plan. The committee is composed of bargaining agent representatives, including PIPSC members and staff, non-represented employees and employer representatives.
