Hear from our members

Members share how we’re serving our members and communities of North Carolina.

“SECU really took care of me. They didn’t just want to give me a loan and send me on my way. They worked with me to find the loan term and the rate that made sense for my situation and then walked me through the entire process: how to set up payments, what to expect, and how to use my new loan the right way. They empowered me to make a smarter decision for me. I’ve never been treated like that by a bank or anywhere else.”

Evanie C., SECU member

“They made the loan process incredibly simple. From exactly what to apply for, to how to pay it off, they listened to us and helped us. They’re friendly people and it always feels like more than walking into a branch. I consider them friends. I’d tell any teacher to go straight to the Credit Union. I’ll even drive them!”

Linda A., SECU member

“It’s a small-town feel when I walk into a branch. They say hi, and they know my name and I know their names. When we need help, they’ve always pointed us in the right direction and been very direct in what our available options are. They don’t push anything; they just make sure we can make the right decision that makes sense for us. Their rates, their support, and how they make you feel really can’t be beat.”

Disclosures

1. APY is accurate as of 6/13/2024. The minimum balance to earn interest on Share Term Certificates (STCs) is $250. Interest accrues as simple daily interest. Rates are fixed for the term of certificate and are determined by the length of the term. Rates on new STCs are subject to change daily without notice. Penalties may apply for early withdrawal of funds. Fees may reduce the earnings on the account. Interest cannot remain on account and payout of interest is mandatory for non-compounding STCs. For any STC initially offered with a promotional or special rate and term that is designated to renew, the STC will automatically renew/convert to a 12-month STC at the then-offered rate.
