Purpose This data is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [Airport Reference Point Buffers are either a two mile or a five mile buffer ring around each of the airport reference points (ARP). Airport Reference Points are a separate point feature class. Buffer rings for each airport have been developed by WisDOT and are based on requirements outlined in the Wisconsin Highway Department's Facilities Development Manual. This data is intended to provide general guidance and airport information for highway construction projects in and around Wisconsin airports, specifically to make contractors and consultants aware of these areas as well as providing contact information for both public and private-use airports.
